Speak Life STEM Christian Academy Field Trip Recap

Our students at Speak Life STEM Christian Academy recently enjoyed a fun and meaningful blueberry picking field trip! What seemed like a simple outing quickly became a hands-on learning experience.

Students explored how blueberries grow, connecting their science lessons to real life. They practiced patience and observation by choosing only ripe berries, and even used math skills as they counted and measured their harvest.

Most importantly, the day reminded us of God’s provision through His creation. It was a “berry” special experience filled with learning, laughter, and gratitude!

Creativity in Action: Watercolor Pumpkin Painting & Animal Challenge

At Speak Life STEM Christian Academy, our young artists have been hard at work in Art Class exploring the beauty of water-based painting. Our 1st and 2nd grade students recently took on an exciting challenge—painting a pumpkin by carefully observing a real one placed right on their desks. Guided step-by-step by their teacher, students learned how to truly see what they were painting. They focused on shapes, colors, shading, and details, transforming what they observed into their own unique works of art on canvas. Through this activity, students developed important skills such as observation, patience, creativity, and fine motor control. They also learned how to use watercolors effectively—blending colors, controlling brush strokes, and bringing their paintings to life. Most importantly, this lesson reminded our students that each creation is unique—just like them! We are so proud of their hard work and the beautiful pumpkins they created.

Our upper-grade students were also challenged in a special way—painting their favorite animal. This project encouraged them to express their creativity while focusing on detail, texture, and color. Students learned how to plan their artwork, study animal features, and translate their ideas into beautiful, unique paintings.

From pumpkins to animals, our students are growing in creativity, confidence, and appreciation for the artistic gifts God has given them!

Time for Worship

Chapel Time at Speak Life STEM Christian Academy

Chapel time is a special and meaningful part of life at Speak Life STEM Christian Academy. Every Tuesday and Thursday, our students gather for 30 minutes dedicated to growing in their faith and deepening their relationship with God. During this time, students are given the opportunity to share prayer requests—for themselves, their families, and others—creating a caring and supportive environment. They engage in heartfelt prayer and joyful worship, learning the importance of seeking God in all things.

Chapel also includes a short, impactful devotional led by our Founder, Pastor Kimberly Vanterpool, who encourages and inspires students with God’s Word in a way they can understand and apply to their daily lives.

These moments together help nurture our students spiritually, reminding them that they are seen, heard, and loved by God.

STEM & Science

Growing Minds Through STEM & Science

At Speak Life STEM Christian Academy, our STEM and Science programs are designed to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning—all while recognizing God as the Creator of all things.

Our students engage in hands-on, interactive learning experiences that bring science to life. Rather than simply reading from textbooks, they explore, experiment, and discover. From observing plant life cycles and ecosystems to conducting simple experiments in the classroom, students learn how the world around them works in meaningful and exciting ways.

Through STEM education—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—students are encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, and think creatively. They participate in activities that involve building, designing, and testing ideas, helping them develop strong problem-solving and analytical skills at an early age.

Our program also emphasizes real-world connections. Whether it’s through nature-based learning like gardening and field trips, or classroom projects that incorporate math and engineering concepts, students begin to see how STEM applies to everyday life. Most importantly, we integrate faith into every lesson. Students are reminded that science and faith go hand in hand, as they explore the wonders of God’s creation with awe and understanding. This approach helps them grow not only academically, but spiritually—building confidence, curiosity, and character.
